Hi. Since I began creating electronic music three years ago, the tracks haven't generally gotten much attention. YouTube's advertising states that you can generate about 500 views with only about $10. I've never advertised because I'm more interested in people's genuine interest in the music, and would like my music to be promoted by supporters.
Over the course of the inception of Memex, I've gotten a good deal of plays/views. However, it has taken an immense amount of time (thousands of hours) to create and promote it. Is it worth it to get paid advertising on places such as Soundcloud, YouTube, and Facebook? It might irritate some people, and I'm mostly afraid of getting the wrong kind of attention. Alternatively, it could be a break from spending so much time only to be rejected dozens of times, and honestly, I have only gotten two people's attention.
Thanks, Anukisun / Memex
