I am writing lots of vocal melodies for my vocalist on the piano, but often encounter the problem that me liking a melody on the piano doesnt mean I will like it sung. The reverse also holds true, I sent some awkward sounding melodies over (played on the piano) to her, and it sounded great as a vocal.
I'm struggling to understand why that is, so that I can improve my vocal writing skills.
