So a few years back I built a PC for gaming. Lately I've been getting a lot more in to music. Buying Fruity Loops producers edition because that's the DAW I've grown to know. No real other reason.
My PC specs are as follows:
Windows 7 64bit
MOBO: MSI X79A-GD45
CPU: i7-3820 Quad-Core 3.60 GHz with Thermaltake Frio OCK CPU Cooler
HDD: 1TB Western Digital Caviar Blue SATA-III 6.0Gb/s
Ram: 16gbs
GPU: AMD Radeon HD 7870
My questions are, what are good external sound card brands? Also are there going to be any tweaks I should make to my computer in order for my music software and hardware to work properly? I want to eventually hook up everything to it. My guitar, mics, pianos, midi pads, all of it. I am pretty much a newb when it comes to this production stuff.
Is there any problems that I should expect to run in to using windows 7?
Please no telling me to switch to MAC, I know its considered better, this is just what I have to work with and I'd like to spend as little money as possible while I am learning the ropes.
Thanks for any and all help.
