I'm very confused as to what latency means in this context. Just to get it out the way: my specs are : - Scarlett Focusrite 2i2. I got the 1st gen and bought the 2nd gen yesterday as I hoped for reduced latency ( I might still return it since I'm so confused) -CPU is i5 4460 -OS is hackintosh ( with Sierra)
I just wanna reduce the latency felt when playing in live drums/Synths into ableton through my m audio midi keyboard in say drum rack. Now what settings in the audio preference pane really matter? Is it input latency or output or roundtrip? Cause when I disable the input the whole roundtrip latency drops a few ms. For some reason I'm not able to go past 48khz and 64/32 samples with the second model without it starting to crackle either, although my cpu meter only shows 60%. Is this just a shitty driver on the second model or is it my CPU?
