I'm pretty new to music production, so sorry if this sounds stupid. I'm Currently paying for Serum through Splice, and I love it, but I'm finding it really hard to design the sounds I want. I'd like to be able to sift through a bunch of presets and tweak one to my liking, but Serum seems more focused on the user creating their sounds from scratch. It does come with quite a few presets but they don't really suit me.
I've heard that Sylenth1 is good in terms of its presets, and I really like some of the sounds I've heard people use from it, but it's got a pretty big price tag and I'm not into piracy. I am a student, but even with that discount it's just over £100.
Is it worth buying (and possibly discontinuing my Splice plan) or should I just learn to make my own sounds in Serum? Alternaitvely if anyone knows some good preset packs for Serum I could try that too.
