So, I want to be a producer. Have wanted to be one for over 4 years. But since I can only make the most basic stuff on Ableton I wanted to try and learn how to do EQing and compressing, and I have Massive so I wanted to learn how to make my own sounds.
I went to Tweakheadz's "guide on everything" to try and learn the above stuff I mentioned, but I'm met with a massive wall of text about MIDI data, the functions of MIDI data, different ways to input sound to your computer... you get the idea. It just made things even more confusing. And after these chapters I see stuff to do with latency, signal flows, and install issues...
My question is, do I really need to learn all of this to be a good producer? I mean, I'll damn well try if that's the case but it just seems unnecessary.
