Hey, all!
I have an opportunity to upgrade from Logic to Ableton. I am a student so I can get the 40% Ableton Discount, however I am not sure what I should purchase yet.
Ableton Standard comes in at 270$ with an educational discount (Normally 450, however is currently 360 because of a holiday savings Ableton is running), and suite comes in at 450 with an educational discount (normally 750, however is 600 with the holiday savings they auto-apply). Ableton's Standard to Suite upgrade comes in at 650 usually, however is 519 currently because of the aforementioned holiday deal.
I know that standard would probably be enough for me right now, however I know in the next year or two I will be needing to upgrade to suite for sure. Considering the upgrade pricing from Standard to Suite, if I wanted to upgrade, it would be more worth while to just buy a new educational license for Suite, rather than upgrading the Standard License I have.
My question is do you guys think it would be smart to fork over the 450 now for Suite, or to buy Standard, and then pay 450 for suite in the future, keeping both sets of licenses?
I do have the funds to do either, however cheaper is always better.
Cheers!
