So, as a music maker, I know that views, comments, followers and likes are very important when trying to get gigs and opportunities. A Youtube video with likes and comments will get better ratings and more easily placed in recommendations.
I saw this post on r/WeAreTheMusicMakers about mutual following on Spotify to get verified, and I thought we could get such a system going for our songs.
My idea was to set a private subreddit where we can share our youtube videos or soundcloud pieces. Other participants would then be able to give you likes, comments and/or follow you.
System would work on reciprocity, so the idea would be that for each comment, like or view you give, you mention it in the reddit comments so that the OP can return the favor.
It's true that it would be some sort of boosting, but I believe it wouldn't that much of a deal. Instead of having 10 likes on your video, you could get 30, which would simply improve your status.
I created a private subreddit called MusicSupportNetwork. Apply now and we can try to get it going!
