Hi Guys,
I have a question about a remix i'm doing. I'm trying to fit in vocals on a part in the song where a lot is happening already. It would be better to not use vocals there, but well.. I want to fit them in.
To explain it a bit better I searched for a song which is similar to what i'm trying to achieve. So in Eric Turner vs Avicii - Dancing In My Head: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gOa07NIkW7U at 0:46 the vocal sits perfectly on top of the melody that later becomes the drop. When I try to get the same result in my song the vocals sound really lost. At the start of the song the vocal level is fine and sounds great when I only work with a pad, but when every other instrument drops in, it gets lost.
I'm wondering now. To achieve the same as Avicii, is the trick really just to put all the instruments down a little, curve out a eq hole for the vocal and thats it? Because I tried this and it works a little, but it doesn't get the same result as in Avicii's track. Maybe I should do it more drastically?
ps. Yes I watched the future music video. But he is not using the complete vocal in that version of the song.
