Hey guys, so I have read a lot of cool articles about people like Flume using different effects and plugins to create random melodies, that they then record either the midi notes and/or audio. Of course from there they go back and find the parts they like and work from there.
This seems like a really cool method to me, but I feel like I am just coming up short in my searches. I am running Live 9.5, and my main synths are Massive and Operator. I just got Serum and barely know how to use it, but would be interested in learning methods with serum as well. So far I have tried messing around with the ableton stock arpegiator, and I have also used Xfer Cthulhu to route arpegios to synths and record that. Though these methods have gotten me some interesting results, I would like to dive much deeper into the world randomized synth lines and resampling them to make unique melodies.
Sooo.... Anybody have some tips or tutorials for methods using the stuff I already own? Or any suggestions of other products to explore to achieve the effect? I have heard you can get a lot of cool sounds like this with modular synthesis, are there any good modular soft synths you would recommend?
Thanks guys!
