Hello,
I'm considering buying a new DAW to work with for the next coming years. I worked with FL studio (a lot), Logic (a lot) and Ableton (a little bit) in the past. Right now I'm thinking of Ableton Live 9 vs. Logic X vs. Bitwig.
I heard good things about all of them and I am aware of their core differences. What I wonder though, is which one you guys think works best with producing techno and (complex) minimal techno. And besides of that which one will work the best with the way I like to work.
Can you guys give me some personal advice please? The things I know about my workflow are:
- I prefer working in a linear way, way more than scenes/looping.
- I like using samples, but mostly use NI Battery for that (sampler plugin)
- Sometimes I like to use and tweak loops, I want my DAW to handle loops in an flexible but also no-nonsense way
- I want a good included EQ, filter and compressor with it
- I tend to use a lot of audio channels, sends and fx plugins. An average project of me has 20-40 audio channels, 20 sends and a lot of the same effect plugins on the audio channels (eq on every channel, other fx etc..
- In addition to the above, it would be awesome if my DAW runs fast and smooth (without delays, clicking, growling, squeaking, only when I use samples/synth's for that ;) )
- Also I like to start using a lot of automation, besides of that LFO control would be handy
Based on these wishes, what would be the best choice out of these 3?
