So I'm really digging a lot of music lately with some real instruments added in such as a saxophone or guitar, bass guitsr, ect and I was wondering if these artists that use them sample stuff or record it themselves?
I mean I'm almost positive it's a little of both, but I guess what I'm really asking is, is it possible to get by in this style without knowing how to play these instruments?
I know some piano but that's about it. Still learning but I'll stick to that for now instead of learning all of these other instruments.
Here's a couple links for reference:

EDIT: If they are using samples or VSTs, does anyone know of a good place to get samples/VSTs like these?
