Hello, As the title states, I have done a fair bit of searching on the benefits and pitfalls of placing acoustic foam pads on the wall directly behind my speakers. My speakers (Mackie mr5 mk2) are about a distance of 2 inches away from the wall from the shortest distance because I have curved them such that they are as close to 30 degrees apart from my center part. I am getting more into recording in my bedroom which contains:
- 2 beds with blankets and all
- A rug
- Curtains
- Tons of books and things taking up the general space of the room
By no means is my room empty whatsoever and it's rare to hear drastic reverb.
I am interested in hearing the benefits of me placing about 8 or so foam pads directly on the wall behind my speakers if it's going to help me hear my speakers better. Of course, I would love to hear any thoughts or opinions on this or anything else that might help me achieve a better listening environment. These things include, adding bass traps, getting my speakers further away from the walls, maybe putting them on speaker stands, etc.
Thank you!
