It has become apparent to me that headphones are better than monitors when you only have about $400.
To use monitors accurately, in their intended usage, I would need to sound treat my room, and have a living situation that allows me to crank tunes up whenever I want. Bla bla bla I know I want headphones as my tool for mixing.
But in doing my research, it has become apparent to me that finding good headphones for EDM production is really hard.
Sub bass is really important to us, and we use a lot more of the audible spectrum than other genres. And when I look at a lot of frequency response charts of monitoring/mixing headphones in the $400 price range, I can't seem to find any that accurately represent the FULL, edm-inclusive low end. They all start to dip out and have -5db at about 50hz and then a downhill slope from there.
Have you come across any mixing/monitoring headphones that have stellar performance when it comes to an accurate, 0db frequency response in the 20hz-100hz range?
