I'm trying to start a discussion on cool things to do with side chaining. I'm gonna post a link to a little track I made as an example of what I've been messing around with. It's not finished or anything, just a beat right now. Not for the views cause my sound cloud is shit anyway, but so you can hear what I'm talking about.
I have some cool long sub bass notes and saws fed through a gate that's side chained my kick and snare. Even playing drums live on my pads is awesome cause every time I hit a kick or snare the bass and saws come through too. Most of the other elements are side chained to a compressor in a (basically) quarter note pattern. It makes some cool syncopation effects.
