I am working on a project where I have to take a bunch of random clips (all of people saying random words) and make a two minute song out of them. I attempted to make a kick by taking one of the words and slowing it down then pitching it down as well. It doesn't really sound like a kick and sounds more like a deep, harsh synth stab. Does anyone have any techniques on how to make a kick or something that sounds relatively close?
Also something to note: I am only allowed to use basic tools (in ProTools) like pitch and time shift, some compression and duplication. Even if I can't make a kick using these basic tools, I would still love to know for the future!
