OFFICIAL RULES - Round 7
SIGNUP AND TRACK SUBMISSION FORMS:
Summary: This competition allows you to find a producer friend to create a track of any kind together. Working on splice will allow each other to see each others producing styles and learn from each others techniques. It is truly a great experience and I hope everyone joins in on round 7.
DATES + GENERALS 1. The competition officially starts on Thursday September 8, 2016, and ends on Monday September 26, 2016. If you think this deadline needs to be extended, please let me know. I believe 4 weeks should cover it, if you find your partner before it officially starts feel free to start your project if your afraid of the time restraint.
-
All members should form teams of 2 (if you have the time, you can join multiple groups, but not collaborate with the same person from the previous competitions if you have done so already). Once you have found a partner PM me Your Reddit names so I can take you off the responses for the competition because people have been having trouble finding a partner.
-
A list will be created including all the details of the teams taking part in this edition of the competition.
TEAMS + TRACKS
-
The collaboration can be of any genre - electro house, hardstyle, DnB, neurofunk, you name it.
-
The whole point of this competition is to interact with your partner and learn each other's methods. Talk with your partners - share samples, presets, learn new ways to produce, learn your partner's workflow.
-
All work should be done over Splice. If you have already started collaborating, please be sure to upload your track onto Splice. You will share the Splice file with "joeylucas1224" when you are done. (that is my Splice account) There should be comments over which layers have been created by whom. This is just to make sure that both partners can verify they have done equal work. If you are too lazy to put the comments over every layer, like if you have over 100 just give me a general run down in the latest project file comment section.
-
If partners cannot work under rule #3, they must forward me a record of the emails at "tellingtalesmusix@gmail.com".
-
If partners cannot work under rule #3 or #4, please contact me and I will arrange something for you. (Don't stress it really please don't see this as a hindrance not to join in on this wonderful learning experience.
JUDGING + SUBMISSION
-
Once a team is done with the track, send me the soundcloud link of the track via one of the members' Soundcloud account through the Google form above. The title of the track should include the genre in it as well. Don't forget to add me to your collaboration on Splice.
-
Judging will be done via a stacked post on the reddit page (Just like the sample pack competition).
-
Each entry got an average of about 100 - 150 plays on round 4. Sorry I don't have the round 5 stats because I am a new host. Stats show that the earlier you submit your entry, the more plays and better feedback you get. I will also give you full feedback (mixing, workflow, etc.) if you decide to include your email in the Google form that I will be setting up. If you have found a partner already, you might as well start working.
Good luck and remember to have fun with this!
