Monitoring, especially for a sub-frequency heavy genre like EDM, seems incredibly tricky.
If I have an audio file that has content from 25Hz all the way up to 15,000Hz, but my monitors only have a max low end frequency response of 30Hz, then I would want to get a sub monitor that recreates 20Hz-100Hz and then put a high pass filter/cutoff on my main monitors at 100Hz? And then how would I set the gain for the sub to know how loud it should be?
Here is a frequency response chart of a KRK Rokit 6 G3 monitor, and clearly it's frequency response takes a huge dip at about 70Hz. Is my goal with a sub to push those low frequencies up to 0 Db?
And if I did buy a sub, how would I measure my frequency response to see if I'm hitting that 0 Db mark?
