I have decided I am ok with paying more, losing power and upgradability with having a laptop over a desktop.
What I can't find info on is the benefits of RAM:CPU.
I will get the latest CPU but I don't understand where having more RAM doesn't make any more difference because the CPU is at capacity.
I will only be working with VSTs.
Would having 24GB of RAM be significantly better than 16 GB of RAM with an Intel i7?
I'm thinking probably not but I don't know enough, can anyone help?
Basically I want to use heavy duty synths like Serum and not have to worry about how many VST plugins I need on each channel. Of course I appreciate that I will hit a limit but would more RAM really make a difference?
