I started learning the harp this February. I started with a local teacher, but needed to find a 2nd one because the 1st was pregnant. My 2nd teacher is not local, so I take online lessons. Both teachers have made me feel very rushed. Neither have given me time to acclimate to the physical requirements (technique & muscle memory) before going into a new, harder piece. Probably because I already play 2 other instruments and sight read very well. I teach piano & ukulele.
I've said repeatedly that I want to go slower and give myself time to feel confident in my technique. Essentially I'm asking for more music that is easier and to keep an eye on my technique. In other words I intentionally want to plateau for a little while, but get repertoire help. 3 months with my new teacher and I don't feel heard. (Plus a few other reasons that are small and harp-related.) She's taking December off, so I'm thinking I should quit and try to find a new teacher before all the New Year's"rush" of students.
How should I quit? It feels so personal when it's one-on-one ongoing lessons. I can't lie and say it's money or a scheduling problem.
