My son (aged 8) has taught himself to play the ukelele. Sadly, although my wife used to play the organ to a high level she has no real interest in music sadly and does not know how to support him. I am keen to support him more than just allowing him to use play-along videos on Youtube.
He has learnt a few songs whilst playing the piano at his grandparents' house (again self-taught).
How can I help him? I have no musical playing talents at all and never had any exposure to instruments. We love listening to different genres of music together though (Prodigy through to Classical music!). His other interests are computers and if there was a way that we could incorporate the two that would be a double whammy? He loves watching Ed Sheeran using a loop pedal!
I was thinking of buying him a guitar? or getting the beaten up organ out from the garage.
What would you all recommend? I just want to encourage him to enjoy his talents.
