I get a lot of students tell me that they struggle playing piano with both hands at the same time. I find a lot of this has to do with jumping into difficult pieces without really having a solid foundation of basic musician skills such as reading music, rhythm, knowing where notes are etc. Of course, another big reason is students often try to play too fast which is especially a problem when trying to play a piece they are familiar with how it sounds such as a popular pop song or classical piece. I go into more detail on this in the lesson I just posted on YouTube, feel free to check it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsGy1ts7KRU
I want to know, what are some things you struggle with or things you find piano students should know about when playing with both hands? I would love to make a follow up lesson at some point with some of your insights.
Thanks!
