Do you think someone having an exceptional memory for music means they could become good at writing music?
To explain briefly, I always thought my musical memory was nothing out of the ordinary. But over he last 2 years (I’m 32 now), people I know have reacted strongly to how much detailed music I can recall [for example: entire movie soundtracks in the correct order, even songs I haven’t heard in 20-25 years, while also being able to distinguish between every instrument]. Now I’m being encouraged to get into writing music, something I’ve never considered doing.
