In many professional songs the transitions sound very good and exciting. Here are a few examples:

That video is generally a good example because they mix a lot of songs together using transitions. What are some melodic tricks to get the transition right? I know in music theory they suggest going from a V to an I chord during the transition but many profesional edm songs don't do this (such as the examples I linked above). Do you guys have any tips?
