So my issue is alot of the synths I use seem to have a retro sound. I typically start on some preset and then adjust knobs until I'm happy. Then when showing it to other people, I find myself thinking that it feels a little 80's video game, and feedback often confirms that whether looked at positively or negatively.
What are some features of more modern EDM/Pop sounds? Like are there certain waves or certain features to waves I should lean toward?
