I’m in love with analog synth-sounds for quite a while, which is nothing special to this sub I suppose. So I tried to learn how I can recreate analog sounds with software synths like Serum. I know all the basic tricks like adding noise, slightly modulating the pitch, experimenting with filter saturation, adding as much subtle randomization as you can, etc. I bought the RC-20 Retro Color, a fantastic plugin to add even more warm and cozy analog feeling to your sounds. And I downloaded a ton of analog waveforms to work with.
So with all these basic tricks in mind, tools like RC-20 Retro Color and especially Serum as a synth, which allows you to load original analog waveforms into it and work with them, I asked myself: How far can I get with recreating analog sounds with software synths? I mean not the vst-emulations of classic analog synths like Arturias Prophet V, just the plain, software synths everyone uses. What are the limitations to this approach? How big are the differences to sounds from classic analog synths like Juno-60 or Prophet-5? And what are some further tips and tricks to create even more analog feel?
(Sorry for possible mistakes, English is not my first language :)
