Do you have to count measures or is there some other way of not losing your place and missing the next change? On a related theme how do people do it in a live setting where the live version of a song is extended by a minute or two from the normal version, or is that actually pre-planned in rehearsal, or are the members of a band looking to one person to signal the changes and eventual end of the song?
