Dear /r/learnmusic,
So I got a soprano recorder yesterday and can now play a few medieval and folk songs half-decently, but found myself desiring lower notes when experimenting with a few songs and was wondering whether also getting an alto recorder would be worthwhile, especially if I learn to read sheet music and start to play classical. How much range overlap is there, and what kinds of music for the recorder require the extra low notes?
