I was trying to modify my init mini mapping to work better with live, mainly the joystick controller (it was controlling multiple things at once and I could not get it to unmap from the so called instant map state), with MPK mapping software that came with it.
1) I could not get the software to make any changes. It would not pull data off the machine, nor did it appear to send data.
2) I first tried with ableton still loaded so I could send my changes to the machines RAM and test it out first before officially saving the new preset. This kept leading to my mini freezing, after which I would have to unplug it to get it to work again.
3) When this did not work, I followed the official advice to shutdown all midi capable programs. and using the Editor software alone. Still no luck, I could not get anything to change on the software (the editor) or the hardware (the mini).
4) I finally unplugged it one more time, and when I went to plug it in once again, it would not turn on.
5) I checked my Macs built in midi utility, which detected the plugged in device, however when I went to test out what midi data was being sent, no keys were sending any data, the machine remained dark.
6) My computer is Mid-2010 MBP running High Sierra v10.13.3, ALS 10.
6) My current theory is I possibly overwrote the mini's RAM when I unplugged the device after hitting the send to ram function within the editing software, but I am not sure.
- Questions: Has anyone else experienced this, and if so what was your solution? (I am trying to avoid sending in the machine if at all possible. I did buy it from Guitar Center with a warranty, Akai peeps say this warranty starts after the akai one ends, however that it not what it looked like when I checked the Guitar Center receipt)
