So one of my New Years Resolutions this year is to learn the piano! I have my stepdad's old Ensonic Sq-1 Plus. I've played the trombone for years, and took an intro music theory class in college, but playing a monophonic instrument has allowed me to skate by even when improvising without needing to fully understand the theory. I can read bass clef fine but am slow with reading treble, so I consider myself an intermediate beginner.
I'd like to learn a bit more about chord theory of what I'm playing to truly know what I'm doing and to allow me to play by ear. I know that taking lessons is the best way to approach this, but I can't afford them currently, so I'm looking for less expensive online lessons. It looks like Playground Sessions is one of the more popular resources but it's not cheap at $18/mo unless I commit to an annual sub (when it goes down to $10/mo but billed annually), so I was hoping to hear peoples' thoughts on it or other softwares that they found helpful before I choose one to go with! Thanks!
