Hey guys, So I have been DJing for about 5 years now and the last year and a half or so I have been making mashups, edits bootlegs etc through ableton.
But now I really wanna start producing. Throughout the past few months I have been looking for the name of a genre which i still and not 100% sure what is yet. Although the closest I can get to was Brazilian Bass house / deep house. Basically like the tracks made by Vinne, Vintage culture, Alok, Cat Dealers etc.
I have been trying for about 3 or 4 months now to recreate a sound simular to theirs. I have spent a some money on "Brazilian bass" sound packs but still can not figure out how to make it. (I understand that it is not just gonna come like that, but would still like some advice as my bases are to griddy and not that loud.)
The main thing I struggle with is bass lines, wubs, bass sounds. Drums (Kinda) and all the other little ear candy sounds made with filters etc.
When I say drums above I mean like the little bass hits or bass kicks they use in between the standard 4/4 kicks. Think that it is called the off beat but don't quote me ;).
If anyone has any advice what so ever about how to produce this genre or even where to find information about this genre would be greatly and I mean GREATLY appreciated.
Best regards, Zayin Conde -ZJC
