Title really says it all.
Expanded, I'm suspicious any sound can fit somewhere into a track via EQing -- like, a techno track probably doesn't have any bright sounds, so you can take the top end off and make a "bright" sample into a dark sound w/ some pitching. As an example.
And w/r/t the rhythm thing: There's definitely some way to intuit what you can put into a track based on what you already have. Or what WOULDN'T sound good. Like you know that if you have two instruments hitting on the 2, you probably don't want another instrument to hit there. Too confusing. But is there a tutorial about this?
Just looking for other peoples' ideas.
