So basically I come from a pretty poor family, and I have an opportunity to go to a community college in Hawaii with a music program, and it's completely free with an 100% acceptance rate. The most I'll be paying is around $500 a month for rent (roommate) and some other money for basic essentials.
I have a good understanding of music and am confident in my skills, I really want to pursue music as it's the one of the few things that brings me happiness. I never really planned to go to college, but this intrigues me and makes me want to start a new chapter in life.
I don't know why I'm asking this, but I'm kind of scared, being independent sounds fun, but it's also intimidating. Would you guys recommend going to school for music?
Thanks for any help.
