I was approached by a network that wants to issue content ID claims on YouTube videos that feature my songs. Do any of you have any experience or advice on this? I'm a little torn on the idea. From what i've been told the videos wouldn't be taken down, the channels who've uploaded them wouldn't receive any copyright strikes, and the ad money earned on the video from this point on would be split between the network and I. Have any of you guys had experience with this? I feel like it's a good way for channels to no longer upload your songs but I was assured that a lot of producers do this and it isn't an uncommon thing? Could I even legally do this if I've filled out the regular "submit your song" forum? The idea of starting to make money from music is very enticing but it feels a little shitty.
