So i am about to buy my first external soundcard, been looking Scarlett 2i2 and Steinberg UR22 MK2. But im also planning to get in near future proper headphones for mixing and producing, and Sennheiser HD600 seems to be often called as the gold standard.
Now that ive looked more into those headphones, their 300 ohms impedance seems to require headphone amp or atleast good external soundcard to work adequately and im worried if the above soundcards listed will manage that.
So im curious if with slight bump up in price id get some non-USB powered external soundcard with enough power juice to properly power Sennheiser HD600s if that is the case and advises for such soundcards. My budget is already starting to get tight, so separate headphone amp would be really pushing it and id rather have that functionality within my external soundcard if possible.
Asking here rather than /r/headphones/ as there people would just recommend that separate headphone amp rather than external soundcard that i will be wanting instead if possible.
All insight and experience welcome on this matter, ive done my share of googling on the matter but ive read plenty of conflicting opinions on the matter that way.
Alternatively i could just wait still a month for Black Friday and see if i could strike a good deal for less expensive and impedance ohm hungry headphones that would work fine with some basic 2i2 USB external soundcard.
As slightly unrelated sidenote, id be still doing most of the work with studio monitors when possible, which im planning to have as pair of JBL LSR 305s. Headphones just for nighttime and when i don't wanna bother others.
