I am almost 18, was going to be a Doctor. In the last year of my entrance exam prep., I fell in love with the idea of being a Music Producer.
I have been more of an Academic than a creative.
The life of a producer, as I see it, is : 1. Make music 2. Tour 3. Make more
I know all about the struggle, the time it takes, still no guarantees, etc.
It has been my dream to Travel, and I have worked hard towards that goal. I chose to be a doctor rather than an engineer or a programmer (two more things that have the capacity to excel at).
But as I know it, doctors are Universally respected, highly paid (if good) and therefore staying for months here and some years there, would work out.
NOTE: this is what I used to think when I chose to be a Doc @ 16.
Thanks for bearing with me this far. After convincing my parents about me as an EDM Producer, I have started working.
My strategy to learn anything is, learning it from the ground up. So I decided to learn the piano along with music theory.
At this point, I have already fucked around with FL 12 for quite some time, understand all the features, and very capable to make a basic song.
But its the 6th month of me doing this, exactly after I gave my Medical entrance, and I haven't been able to do much.
What I really mean to ask is, can I be a Producer? Is there a better way of approaching production (like Med School + Production)?
Please comment and ask and advise and I expand further.
Sorry if you felt that this post is kind of incomplete and I wasted your time.
