So I've been trying to "master" one of my songs and I've been running into an issue. When mixing the song and listening on my higher end monitors and headphones (beyerdynamic dt770 pro 80ohm) I hear a good balance. But when I bounce the track out and listen on lower quality headphones and speaker systems my mixes have too much bass and sound boxy, if you know what I mean. Its like there is either too much bass, or not enough.
I have been referencing my tracks with other tracks that sound good no matter what, and I think my track's balance is pretty much as close as I can get (audio and on an analyzer), but when I bounce it and listen, it just isn't the same. Limiting seems to make it worse (which makes sense, and im trying to keep the GR low).
Has anyone dealt with this before? I know its tough to diagnose without examples but just wondering if anyone has any general advice. Thanks.
