Before I start, if you are new to production and/or are practicing mixing/mastering, this does not apply to you, don't worry.
It frustrates me to hear a good track that literally rips itself apart during high transient sections; such as the beginning of a "drop" or a busy few beats etc.
It does nothing for me personally and just suggests that the producer/mastering engineer (let's hope not) has resorted to using this cheap tactic to decrease the RMS.
Loudness ≠ quality or good mixing.
And finally, I put up a post two years ago offering to help people with music. Again, I extend my hand; add "themawofficial" on snapchat and throw questions at me. I will try my best to answer them.
