So, for the last couple years I've been doing all my writing on an 11 year old Roland MC-808 that I snagged at a pawn shop. I've always been resistant to being tied into a computer for writing music as I get distracted too easily. I'm really running into the limitations of the 808 now and think it's finally time to admit I need to bring a computer into this, but I like my hardware.
I've looked around at Akai's mpcs and at the Maschine studio and settled on the Maschine. It just sound more versatile from what I've read and apparently you can still do most things without ever looking at your computer, which I like.
Does anybody have any other suggestions of hardware to look at?
