I took a job making music for an advertisement. They had something specific in mind, and I generated some content for them with which they seemed satisfied, but later on decided not to go with.
However, when I asked to be compensated for my efforts (at 1/3rd of my flat rate), they're refusing to do so, saying that they didn't use any of my material and therefore don't see any reason to pay me.
Is there anything I can do? We had a verbal agreement that I would be paid fairly for my work.
Not sure where I should be asking this. I just put it here in case someone can tell me what to do, or point me in the right direction.
