I'm Ableton all the way. It's the DAW I've worked with for years and I know it pretty well inside out; but lately (primarily from having to do some writing in FL studio) I've been realizing more and more that staring at the layout and color scheme of Ableton actually holds me back from making the lush beautiful sounds I want to make because I'm staring at this grey, default unskinned-looking piece of software. I know you can change to disco and even other themes from the internet but I find the colors to still be whacky and off putting.
I swear I almost HEAR the same sound differently when I'm looking at it in edison compared to in live's interface.
Either way, I'm not looking to get into a huge tangent. I've made some of the best music I've made in months just by switching it up a bit and I thought that could be a useful piece of information for someone who might be experiencing writer's block.
P.S. has anyone found any tolerable skins for live?
