unsure how to word this but basically:
i have been playing piano for over a decade and am proficient in reading sheet music. i have also picked up guitar and bass etc through the years and while i understand how to read sheet music, i can't seem to grasp reading sheets and positions/tabs on a guitar (i totally rely on tab notations when learning a new piece). for example: whenever i see sheet music, all i can envision is the piano playing and where to put my fingers, but i cant do the same for guitar.
any advice on how to improve on connecting the notes "on" my guitar to the notes i already know on piano/sheet music?
