Hi guys, my first post here!⬆️
I've been playing electric guitar since I was 15/16 years old and I've had some music lessons but I feel like I've evolved more on my own, exploring the instrument (i only have a guitar and a dream). I want to learn how to read and develop some melodies that come into my head at 3 am and don't let me sleep... I know it requires more dedication than anything, but I have no idea where to start. My references are some instrumental groups making genres like Jazz, Cinematic Soul, Funk, R&B/Hip-Hop and 60/70's Psychedelic stuff, and I want to write songs based on these influences. I have a very very (almost nothing) basic aknowledge of scores (sheet music) and scales, but I never knew how to go deeper into it.
Any tips?
