I have taken college classes, guitar lessons, and I've watched YouTube videos but for some reason I cannot understand music theory for the life of me.
I just watched a YouTube video and mid way through I just felt completely lost. Maybe it's the jargan or something I'm not really sure but I feel like it's hampering my process a lot.
I want to write metal music but it seems like every time I do the riffs or sounds I can make sound either boring or happy. I tried using minor chords more and I don't really know why but I can't get my hands to make the right sounds. I wanna learn music theory so I can innovate and create but I just feel cock blocked and I don't get it.
Is there a YouTube series or something that you guys would recommend for really grasping the idea of music theory? I am the kinda guy who usually needs to learn why something works in order to learn so I would be interested to see something like that
Or do you have any recommendations on ways to learn the key circle thing? Idk why but that one confuses me really bad too
