Hi i'm brain damage with learning disabilities but i had alittle bit music abilities since young. However i'm not a savant or nothing, so i try to learn but i can't learn well and then i can't move my fingers well or control them. i Can play ok simple melodies and not too fast and i like improvise but i'm not good at it because i dont understand the scales and difficult scales and jazz chords or any chords, it's difficult for me. I've tried piano, and guitar and singing. But i never get good. piano is my best but that just means doing melodies i really can't play chords and difficult stuff at the same time with the left. Guitar is so hard i can't control my fingers, and singing i am not good with words.
Is it ok that i will never get good at anything although i like to learn music by listening?
It's kind of frustrating that i try but i can't do it for many years! i'm old now i'm not a teen or 20s.
Now i just kind of give up on try traditional learning, i most learn by playing rather than memorizing or practicing. i just play along with music, trying to copy melodies, i do well beacuse i have some music spirit and i land on the right notes or coreect fast and match the next coming notes even if i never practiced before. And for guitar i just try the same as piano, i copy the melody when playing music in boombox. That's my practice. It's fun.
what do you think?
