So here's a number of questions for those of you who got off to a late start (after age 14 at least, let's say) in music, didn't have prior training, but nonetheless managed to get into a university/college music program and major either in performance or musicology or composition.
When (at what age) did you start?
How did you start?
If you started playing an instrument, what instrument was it?
How long did it take you before you could actually get into a music program?
Was it exceptionally difficult for you to study music, as compared to your peers?
Would you do anything different in hindsight?
