I'm 20 and I've always wanted to learn an instrument but due to my family's financial status we couldn't afford to buy and pay fees for lessons. I know people can learn from youtube but I guess I'm not smart enough for that I get easily confused. We're financially more stable now so I want to pursue my dream. I like chill indie and dream pop/shoegaze kinda music so I was going to buy electric guitar but then my sister's friend who enjoys classic rock or heavy metal unlike me, told me you shouldn't buy an electric guitar just to play some pop songs. I don't know if it sounds dumb but I got confused after that day. Should I try for piano? I love the sound of them both. Or shoud I go for an acoustic guitar since it's suitable for all genres? But an acoustic guitar doesn't excites me as much as these two instruments. All I want is to play the songs I love, even thinking about it makes me happy. And I can't afford buying something to eventually give up on and put it away like decoration. So I really want to learn something that I find interesting so I can dedicate myself totally. I'd like know what would you guys suggest me? Thank you in advance and sorry for my bad english.
