Hi musicians of Reddit, I picked up guitar around 2 years ago as a serious hobby. I put in 1000 hours, it's like a quarter time job for me, 10 hours a week, 52 weeks a year except Christmas and Thanksgiving. I must say I need a little break from guitar. I tried video games but they just don't feel as fulfilling as learning music.
When I learn a song on guitar, I try to cover a song end to end i.e. playing all parts of a song like rhythm, lead, and any other embellishing parts. I get my full score from online in .gp files. If anything's missing, I try to fill it in by knowing a little theory. So I am like, why don't I just learn the other parts as well? (drum, keyboard, and bass)
Guitar is still my main focus but which of the 3 instruments I should learn to compliment and improve my guitar skill? I think most musicians seem to know multiple instruments. Do you mind sharing how beneficial is it to you? Thank you
