I absolutely love listening to music and discovering new music. I've also always wanted to make music, be it electronic or indie rock or indie folk etc. My biggest issue has been procrastinating and even though I've been trying to learn guitar using Justinguitar for 7-8 months, I don't feel like I've gotten anywhere.
I haven't learned many songs if any properly on the guitar and I've only done some of the exercises, learning chords, scales and I mostly idly play around strumming different chords instead of actually learning any songs. I'm on Intermediate Foundation 2 now but I'm not sure how much that means.
It pisses me off cuz I just want to make music and have fun with it but I don't feel like I'm going anywhere. I can write poems quite well and would probably be able to write some lyrics if I actually knew how to sing them and play the guitar well.
Am I just lazy and need to stick to it, should I go about my learning a different way or is playing an instrument/the idea of making music just not for me and I should just stick to listening to music?
