I have an idea for a play and I can already hear the music that accompanies the story. (I'm thinking it includes medieval instruments and a chorus, I'm very drawn to the music of Gregorian chants, Hildegard Von Bingen, Tchaikovsky and Anne Carson) In my mind it's not quite an opera but definitely not a musical as its not really showtunes. I know very little about music, and composing music in general but I'm very committed to learning enough to create this project. I don't care about how hard it would be or how much time it would take, how could I go about learning enough about composing, choral composing, etc to write something like this?
